What are some inspiring truths?
Introduction. Christianity is definitely a system which is characterized by hope (Rom. 12: 12, 15: 13). Hence, there must be some inspiring or encouraging truths found in God's word.
The truthfulness of God. Peter wrote, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise..." (2 Pet. 3: 9). The Being whom the Christian serves is "faithful" (1 Thes. 5: 24). There is absolutely no vacillation or unreliability with God (Jas. 1: 17). God does not lie. In fact, the scriptures inform us that it is impossible for God to lie (Heb. 6: 18).
A sympathetic High Priest. The role of the High Priest was principally to make intercession for the sins of the people (Heb. 7-10). The priests under the Mosaic economy were imperfect. They died, sinned, and the blood of bulls and goats which they offered for the people's sins was insufficient (Heb. 7: 23, 27, 28; 10: 1-20). The Christian has Jesus - who is not subject to death, who is sinless, and Himself the perfect offering - as his High Priest (Ibid. Heb. 9: 24-28). Jesus is a sympathetic High Priest (Heb. 4: 14-16).
The faithful shall receive a crown of life. "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation," wrote James, "for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him" (Jas. 1: 12). The righteous shall enter into "life eternal" in the beautiful city of God (Matt. 25: 46; Rev. 21, 22).
There are many reasons for the Christian being encouraged. The fact that God watches over His people is of great encouragement (I Pet. 3: 12). The Christian rejoices in forgiveness and being able to approach God in prayer (1 John 1: 6-9). Truly there are many inspiring truths found in God's word.
