How do the scriptures relate to AIDS?

Introduction. AIDS is a harsh fact of life.  AIDS has now graduated from the 15th to the 11th cause of death (*).  In the past eight months there are a known 1,000,000 new cases of the HIV virus.  Statistically, 66% of AIDS victims are homosexuals and 22% are intravenous drug users.  An estimated 6% are Wives, partners or children of AIDS victims.  A believed 5% to 8% are innocent victims (blood transfusions, etc.).

Frequently associated with sin. Beloved, the vast majority of the 195,000 known cases of AIDS in America is the product of sin!  According to God (ultimate authority), "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled..." (Heb. 13:5).  Sex in legitimate marriage is not dirty.  However, "...but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge" (Heb. 13:5).  Sex outside God ordained marriage is fornication (1 Cor. 7:2). The Bible relates to AIDS in that it teaches, "...the way of transgressors is hard" (Prov. 13:15).  As AIDS becomes more of a heterosexually transmitted disease, we shall witness a tremendous increase.

Beloved, our hearts go out to the innocent victims of AIDS.  The homosexual, the fornicating heterosexual, and the abuser of drugs can obtain God's forgiveness and help (1Cor. 6:9-11).  Untill more people return to God's standards, we shall continue to witness the heartbreak of violating God's laws (126,000 deaths because of AIDS).  Remember, "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap" (Gal. 6:7).  The answer is not safe sex, but God ordained sex!
