Question: Why cant everybody be right?
Answer: Jesus Christ introduced the truth to man (Jn. 1: 17). Jesus presented the truth in His and the apostles teaching (Jn. 6: 63; I Cor. 14: 37). We are told there is only one faith or system of truth (Eph. 4: 5). This one faith must be believed and obeyed without distortion or perversion (I Pet. 1: 22; Gal. 1: 6-9). Hence, Christians are to contend for the "once delivered faith" (Jude 3, ASV). Nonetheless, Americans have been fed a steady diet of no absolutes.
Why cant everybody be right regarding the nature of Jesus? Modernists tell us Jesus was a good man, but not the sinless Son of God. Some religionists inform us that He was a son of God, but not the Son of God, God/man. However, the one faith tells us that Jesus was sinless and "...in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Col. 2: 9; Heb. 4: 15).
Why cant everybody be right regarding heaven and hell? We are told by some that heaven and hell are not real places wherein the righteous and the wicked will continue forever, the righteous in bliss and the wicked in torment. Notwithstanding, Gods word tells us heaven and hell are actual (Matt. 25: 31-46; Mk. 9: 42-46).
Why cant everybody be right regarding the plan of salvation? Some say one must just mentally accept Gods existence to be saved. Some contend you merit salvation. Gods word teaches one must obey the gospel to enjoy Gods grace (Rom. 10: 11-17; 2 Thess. 1: 8; Heb. 5: 8, 9; Eph, 2: 8-10).
Beloved, we could multiply the list of beliefs. However, the point is: everybody cant be right and God be right! It is time that we begin to honestly and intelligently consider Gods word. The only way everybody can be right is if everybody believes and practices the same book, the Bible (I Cor. 1: 10).
