Our online Bible Study Course consists of the following eight lessons:
|
#1 The Creation.
Multiplied millions of dollars are being spent by the government and the
scientific community in an effort to learn the origin of man and the
universe. All types of hypothesis have been advanced from the big bang
"theory" to theistic evolution to explain the beginning. Let's see what
the Bible has to say about origins.
|
#2 The Bible. Do
you want to learn more about the greatest book ever known to man? The Bible
is the greatest book because the Creator of the universe and of you and me
gave it to man. Speaking of prophecy (scriptures) the apostle Peter wrote,
"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of
God spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit" (2 Pet. 1: 21). This lesson
introduces the "book of books", how it is organized, and how we got it.
|
#3 Bible Authority.
There are a number of biblical statements which presuppose authority and
from which authority is implied. Believers are to be one and of one mind
(John 17: 21, 1 Cor. 1: 10). We are to "prove all things; hold fast that
which is good" (1 Thes. 5: 21). Those who teach are commanded to "speak as
the oracles of God" (1 Pet. 4: 11). This lesson discusses the
importance of have authority for what we say & do religiously as well as how
to properly establish that authority.
|
#4 Ancient Christianity.
Have you ever really given serious thought to Christianity, what exactly is
Christianity and has it always been as it is today? "Christianity" in most
people's view, is a conglomerate of all religions, regardless of how
remotely they resemble the scriptures, that profess to believe in Jesus
Christ. In this lesson, we invite you to take a trip back in time, all the
way back to the First Century.
|
#5 Jesus' Church.
Concerned, reader, are you aware that there are thousands of different
churches today with new ones being introduced every month? These churches
are all distinguished one from the other in origin, founder, doctrine, and
purpose or goals. Some of these churches are obviously false and evil.
But can you tell which ones are really doing what Jesus would have them to
do? This lesson examines some of the characteristics which distinguish
the Lord’s church. | |
|
#6 Salvation.
One of the grandest subjects capable of being discussed by man is that of
salvation. This lesson examines a number of false doctrines associated with
salvation and tries to scripturally answer the age-old question "…Sirs, what
must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16: 30).
|
#7 Christian Living.
When one submits to God's plan of salvation (Lesson Six), one is born anew
and is a new creation (John 3: 3-16; 2 Cor. 5: 17). In this new state, "Old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Cor. 5: 17).
The Christian has a new relationship with his God and his fellow man (Matt.
22: 37, 39). Paul presents the new creature as dead to sin (Rom. 6: 2). He
also states, "…even so we also should walk in newness of life (vs. 4). In
this lesson, we will discuss what this "new" life involves on a practical
day-to-day basis. | |
|
#8 The Hereafter. Some words in the English language which actively suggest warmth are mother, father, home, and heaven. The word heaven (ouranos) is found 284 times in the Greek New Testament. Jesus taught the reality and beauty of heaven when he said, "Rejoice, and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven…" (Matt. 5: 12). In this final lesson, we'll look at motivating characteristics associated with the reward of heaven and the punishment of Hell. |

This course endeavors to be entirely accurate relative to the truths found in the Bible. We are under the obligation to present only God's word without change (Gal. 1: 6-9, Rev. 22: 18, 19). It is the Truth that sets man free while religious error condemns (John 8: 32; 2 John 9). Therefore, you are urged to study these lessons with discernment, paying close attention to the scriptures (1 John 4: 1, Acts 17: 11).
