Is baptism essential for
salvation? Must a person who believes in Jesus be baptized (immersed in
water) in order to have their sins washed away and become saved? Having
the right answer to this question is absolutely critical to having a proper
understanding of how God saves people today.
On September 8th, the Holly Street church of Christ hosted
a panel-based public debate/discussion on this important topic. Panel members representing both sides of this topic
presented the reasons for their different views and
also answered questions asked by each other & the audience.
Below are audio recordings in mp3 format along with a video recording in m4v format. They can be downloaded free of charge and/or played in real-time depending on your computer's configuration. The video recording should be compatible with QuickTime-enabled desktops/laptops along with iPads, iPhones, iPod Touch, Android tablets, and Android phones.
Audio CDs and video DVDs are also available free of charge. If you would like to sign up for a CD and/or DVD, please return to our home page and click on the "Ask a Question" button. Please be sure to include your name and mailing address in your request.
Two related booklets were passed out at the end of the debate, one titled "A Study of Mid-Acts Dispensationalism" and one titled "Answering Arguments Against Baptism". You can request a copy of these (while supplies last) using the "Ask a Question" button mentioned above.
